6 World Premieres, 8 European and 11 Spanish debut performances at Docúpolis’07

This years’ edition of Docúpolis denotes six World Premieres, eight European and eleven debut performances of Documentaries in Spain.

The world premiere for Best Documentary within the International competition is Djiarama (Welcome), realized by Chus Barrera & Alicia Fernandez Carmena. Amongst the selected films for Best Short Documentary the world premieres are:
Les hommes invisibles (The Invisible Men) by Valérianne Poidevin and Libro de Familia (Family Book) by Alberto Bougleux. Studio Berçot, à l’école de la mode (Studio Berçot, School of Fashion) by Valérie Garel and The Ballad of Betty French by Adam Gutch debut inside of an international level within the section of Best First Documentary.
Last but not least among the selected movies for the honorific Prize Off Docúpolis, is Roaming Around by Brigitte Maria Bertele, also presented as world premiere.

On the European level debut A Walk to Beautiful by Mary Olive Smith
(Best Documentary), JR - Expo 2 rue by Chiel Aldershoff (Best Short Documentary), Liza by Taras Tomenko (Best Short Documentary), Best in the West by Maryam Kazan, Dance for all by Viviane Blumenschein & Elena Bromund, Safa shel af echad (No Man's Language) by Dana Levy and Sueños de Polvorón (Polvoron´s dreams) by Gabriel Alijo, compete all within the section of Best First Documentary and Reyita (Little Queen) by Oliva Acosta & Elena Ortega inside of the section Off Docúpolis.

The program of Docúpolis also offers the opportunity to watch documentaries that haven’t been shown in Spain and Catalonia before, the number of these Spanish premieres is significant (11):
