Globalisation and variety of topics among the selected documentaries for the Docúpolis Prize
The competitors have documented diverse realities, speaking both of actuality and history, for the categories of Best Documentary, Best First Documentary and Best Short Film
The VII International Documentary Festival of Barcelona – Docúpolis has published the selection of documentaries for the competition. The organization has selected a dozen of finalists for each of the prizes of the official competition: Docúpolis Award, Best First Documentary Award, and Gran Angular Award – TVE Catalunya for the Best Short Documentary film.
The selected documentaries for the Docúpolis Award compete to win 6.000 euros. The finalists have been chosen for their remarkable works of rigor and artistic ability to explain the reality in many different places around the world. Human conflicts, artistic reflections, violation of human rights and problems derivated from globalization, as the unfair relations or the immigration, are some of the topics which have been chosen by the directors.

- Naná’s Diary - Paschoal Samora (Brazil)
- ¿Qué tienes debajo del sombrero? (What’s under your hat?) - Lola Barera & Iñaki Peñafiel (Spain)
- Alguna Tristeza (Some kind of Sadness) - Juan Alejandro Ramírez (Perú)
- The Mothers' House - Francois Verster (South Africa)
- Utopia 79 - Joan López LLoret (Spain)
- Welcome Europe - Bruno Ulmer (France)
The finalist of the Best First Documentary Film wins the filmdiffusion by the distributor Ermedia. Docúpolis was attracted by projects of visual risks and originally stories. They all have in common high freshness and innovation.
