Documentary cinema seminar : Patricio Guzman
The association The Third Eye inside Docupolis's programming 2007, organizes a seminar of documentary cinema that Patricio Guzman will give. The director already had given a seminar inside Docupolis's programming 2002 with notable success. Year after years, the producer visits Barcelona by request of a faithful public. The festival programmes this seminar for the contribution and importance of Patricio Guzman's education as one of the big teachers of contemporary documentary.Patrician guzman is one of the most recognized and prestigious directors of documentaries, author of: “The Chile battle”, “The case Pinochet”, “The obstinate memory” or “Salvador Allende” among a rich and extensive movies.
Patricio Guzman is recognized and valued by his wide educational experience, with different student bodies though Europe, Latin America and United States.
The seminar is directed both for professionals and for experts of the kind, also explores a wide accessible universe to the general public. It will consist of five classes of four hours of duration each one and the schedule is 3PM to 7 PM.
The classes will be given on the CCCB Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona from the 1st to the 5th of October of 2007.

“My idea is to speak about the documentary in all its states from the script. I will take as a point of departure and point of arrival the different stages for which it crosses a documentary script. In spite of the fact that spoken enough on the uselessness or even of the nonexistence of the documentary script I believe that, on the contrary, the documentary writing is very advisable to make a documentary work.
One of the characteristics of the documentary script is that there remains opened (unfinished, changeable, modifiable) during the whole process of accomplishment of the work, from the first day of filming up to the sound mixture, which it allows to speak about the writing in parallel with the stages of the manufacture of the whole movie.
