NEWS Docúpolis publishes the selected films of the International Competition. Best Documentary Film, Best First Documentary, Best Short Documentary Film and Off-Docúpolis have already finalists aspiring to the award. The VIII International Documentary Film Festival of Barcelona, Docúpolis, has already chosen the films that will be part of the Official Competition of its 8th edition. From the thousand film coming from all the five continents, near 50 have been selected to compete in the four official categories: Docúpolis award to Best Documentary Film, Best First Documentary, Best Short Documentary Film, and Off Docupolis Award. Besides, four more honorific prizes will be awarded: Tercer Ojo Award to the best experimental documentary film, Human Rights Award, Best Latin American Documentary Film and the Audience Award. The directors come from around the globe and their documentaries talks about really different stories. From human and war conflicts to dance, from immigration to feminity, from Human Rights to relationships, the topics reflected in the documentaries are multiple and different. However, all of them share a high artistic quality. The selected documentaries for Docúpolis Award compete to win 6.000 euros. The chosen films will be projected during the festival, from 1st to 5th October, in the CCCB (Contemporary Culture Centre of Barcelona). The last day of the festival, Sunday 5th, the jury will reveal the names of winners of each category, and they will receive their correspondent prize.
