Docupolis, in its third edition, calls for entries of documentaries to participate in eight different categories of the International Competition. This year three honorific awards that were given for the first time in 2002 are included in the official competition: Tercer Ojo Award to the Best Experimental Documentary, ICCI Award to the Best Latinamerican Documentary and the Award to the Best Human Rights Documentary.

Docupolis is a festival that, in its short but strong life, has become a reference for international documentary festivals with a participation success in every edition. Year after year it has faced the difficulties involving a project like this, made with effort but always short in resources.

As Josep Ramoneda, CCCB director, said: "Docupolis is a consolidate festival and its contents reflect our complex contemporary society". Docupolis is a festival of authors, of personal points of view, of risk, experimentation and thoughts. In one word, it’s a contents festival.

We invite all professionals, independent filmmakers, production companies, schools and students to participate in this international competition.

In the following months we will update the information about our parallel activities: retrospectives, authors, invited countries, seminars and round tables.

Welcome to this third edition.
