DOCÚPOLIS 06 ARRIVES TO ITS END

On Sunday 8th October at 20h00 in the Auditory of CCCB there will be the delivery of the International Contest Awards and the Honorific Awards. During the whole day the projections will continue in the three spaces of CCCB.


The last day of Docúpolis 06 held the projections of the International Contest in its three modalities –Docúpolis Award to the Best documentary, Gran Angular Award to the best short movie and Opera Prima Award that counts on the support of Ermedia, company that will diffuse the winning work. At 20h00 the winners will be known in a ceremony that will take place in the Auditory of the CCCB. Also, during the ceremony the Honorific Awards will be given to its protagonists except from the Man of the camera Award which was given to Marceline Loridan, widow of Joris Ivens on Friday. The Honorific Awards are: Tercer Ojo Award –to the best experimental documentary-, Human Rights Award –to the best documentary about human rights- Best Southamerican Documentary Award, and the Audience Award, resulting from the votes of the spectators during all the week.
Moreover, there are programmed projections on Sunday from the most Parallel Activities: Joris Ivens Retrospective will finish with the first Iven’s movie, a domestic western made when he was only 13 years old and the documentary fiction filmed in China Une histoire du vent, his last documentary; the Retrospective about the new Portuguese documentary is also finishing, this time with two movies of Edgar Pêra, one of the guests in the Saturday’s round table; other parallel activities such as Catalan Version, Medimed, Off Docúpolis, Festival de Festivales, Recovery or Delicatessen also arrive to their end. Delicatessen screens at 18h15 in the Hall of CCCB the movie Viejo Zorro, selectionated by the FIDOCS documentalist and programmer Patricio Guzmán. In Guzmán words, the documentary of Rolando Opazo “discovers and shows the energy and creativity of the ancient people” so it is “amazing because each old person is a projection of our parents and grandparents”.
