NEWS 07/10/06 RELEASE IN SPAIN OF THE DOCUMENTARY ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH WILLIAM EGGLESTON BY THE WAYS By the Ways is a portrait of the American master of the photography in colour William Eggleston who has been awarded by a jury presided by Jean-Pierre Gorin in the edition of 2005 of the Documentary Festival of Marseille. At the same time, By the ways is a film that argues about an important genre for the documentary as it is the portrait, through a thematic subtlety: the bond of Eggleston with the deep American icons and among them with the black genre and detective literature, is useful for Gérard and Lathy to essay a portrait that instead of directing the “focus of the room directly on the suspicious”, it is directed to “the shadow zones usually much more revealing”, Jean-Pierre Rehm said. By the Ways will be projected inside one of the new Parallel activities of Docúpolis for this year’s edition, Delicatessen, where programmers from the best documentary festivals are invited to choose the most relevant film from the last years programmed by them.
